Purpose:

In the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (PCUSA) the session is made up of current elders who have been elected by the congregation to serve as the governing board of the church. Our session has nine members, plus the Pastor who serves as the moderator for the Session. The session is given many responsibilities is ensuring that worship is provided for members of the church, ensuring that Christian Education is provided for all members, overseeing all financial decisions of the church, serving as leaders of the congregation along with the pastor, and setting an example for the rest of the congregation in their actions and stewardship of the resources that God has given to all of us. The session meets monthly to make decisions and to study scripture and prayer together.

Deacons:

Deacons are elected officers of the church who are entrusted with the important ministry of congregational care based on the example of Steven describes in the Book of Acts in the Bible. The ministry of a Deacon is to follow the example of Jesus, to be loving, caring and compassionate friend to all. It is a ministry of prayer and community service, willingly done without hesitation.
